On June 4, 2021, Valerie Cimarossa, University of Advancing Technology Vice President of Marketing and Technology, was presented with the Woman of the Year Honorable Mention during the Arizona Women in Higher Education's (AWHE) 2021 conference.

The conference, Rise Up Together and Reimagine Leadership, was AWHE's annual, two-day professional development experience designed to bring together Higher Ed professionals from across Arizona. During the conference, AHWE honored selected women for leadership, innovation, and service. Valerie was selected for an honorable mention, and Dr. Linda Elliot-Nelson, Ph.D., was named the 2021 Woman of the Year.

UAT is proud of Valerie’s commitment to higher education. “Valerie is one of the most impressive people I’ve ever met,” said UAT President Jason Pistillo. “Brilliant, brave and steadfast, Valerie has been able to accomplish easily many things others have always stalled out on. She has helped shape UAT’s future, and as a thought leader in higher education systems, learning models and programs, has contributed to a greater good that will positively impact generations to come.”
