Can a person get a job without a degree?

Sure. When it comes to a career; however, having a degree is critical.

A degree tells an employer more than just the courses a person has completed, and the skills that a person has acquired. A college degree shows that a person can accomplish their goals, can overcome hard times and has had to learn time management, balance, and tenacity. These aren’t always quantifiable skills, but they are vital to any career in any industry. College is an experience, and the degree earned is a culmination of that experience.

Can a person do their own research and learn how to code, animate and design online? Sure. But where do they start? How do they know that what they find online is credible, reliable? College provides pointed guidance to the right resources, as well as access to industry professionals as teachers, mentors and support. Learning how to research correctly is also an important skill that college teaches students and that is invaluable to an employer.

So, in response to the question, “Can you get a job without a college degree?” the answer is, sure, most likely, but that degree and the college experience that helped to earn it will help both the employer and the candidate feel that much more confident that they are making the right choice and investing in the right candidate for their organization.

Bottom line? It's worth it.
