Landing internships, building professional connections, and preparing for life after college can feel overwhelming — but students at University of Advancing Technology (UAT) don’t have to navigate it alone. Career Services works closely with students to help them develop the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in technology and innovation. We asked UAT's Career Services Coordinator Jake Henningsen to answer some frequently asked questions to learn more about the resources, guidance, and opportunities available through Career Services.

What jobs do graduates get?
That really depends on the degree they pursued. Across the board, Software Engineer, IT Specialist, and Game Designer are some of the common titles.

Do you offer internships?
Yes, every on campus student is actually required to complete an internship. We help students to apply to all sorts of external opportunities, but also maintain some internal opportunities. For example, UAT's Marketing Department will normally take on a couple Digital Marketing or Advertising Art students each semester. Online students may also complete internships for credit.

Do you help get jobs for students?
We do. Resume assistance and mock interviews are available through Student and Career Services all year around, and we host regular events in those areas as well. And then we maintain multiple entry level job boards.

Does UAT guarantee me a job in the technology industry?
No, UAT does not guarantee job placement. But we will help you build the skills that the tech industry is looking for.
