University of Advancing Technology (UAT) is proud to celebrate Chancellor Valerie Cimarossa, who was named a 2026 Women Achiever of Arizona in the Education category by the Arizona Capitol Times.
The annual Women Achievers of Arizona awards recognize women whose professional achievements, leadership and service have made a meaningful impact on their industries and communities. Cimarossa was selected among the Education category’s honorees from more than 100 nominees statewide, joining a distinguished group of leaders shaping Arizona’s future.
As Chancellor of UAT, Cimarossa helps lead an institution built around technology, innovation and preparing students to solve the challenges of tomorrow. UAT’s distinctive approach to higher education centers on emerging technologies and the development of skills students can apply in a rapidly evolving world.
Her recognition highlights the importance of leadership that moves education forward, connects academic learning with real-world needs and creates opportunities for the next generation of innovators.
At UAT, that work takes place at the intersection of education and technology, where students are encouraged to think beyond conventional approaches and develop solutions to complex problems. Leadership in this environment requires a commitment to innovation, collaboration and preparing students for careers that continue to evolve alongside technology.
The 2026 Women Achievers of Arizona honorees represent a broad range of fields, including education, corporate leadership, government and public service, healthcare, law, public policy and nonprofit leadership.
Cimarossa shares the Education category with Liz Gonzalez of Maryvale Gifted & Talented Academy, Christina Ngo of Arizona State University and Cindy Segotta-Jones of Glendale Elementary School District. Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, was named Woman of the Year.
Together, this year’s honorees reflect the contributions women make across Arizona’s educational institutions and communities.
Cimarossa’s recognition is an opportunity to celebrate the leadership behind UAT’s mission and the continued importance of innovative education in Arizona.
As technology reshapes industries and creates new possibilities, institutions that embrace change and prepare students to lead will play an increasingly important role in the state’s future. UAT is proud to see its Chancellor recognized among the women helping shape that future.
Congratulations to Valerie Cimarossa and all the Women Achievers of Arizona winners — 2026, Arizona Capitol Times.
